Lean Manufacturing Simulation
This exercise dramatically demonstrates the advantages of advanced production techniques over traditional production methods. By working through the simulation, participants quickly understand the dynamics necessary to maximize throughput, minimize losses, and minimize inventory.
Participants will learn how lean manufacturing can improve manufacturing and business operations. They will be able to define and apply the basic concepts of lean manufacturing and, identify the eight wastes and define non-value added work.
ZODIAK: The Game of Business Finance and Strategy
Participants run ZODIAK, a manufacturing company, for three years. Participants take actions that impact the bottom line. Each team of participants will complete income statements and balance sheets and calculate key ratios to analyze results at the end of each year.
Participants will have a better grasp of critical business issues and how they can contribute most to the company’s growth and success. Participants learn how to make effective, cost-conscious decisions, with both short and long term impact.
Problem Solving
This 15-hour course teaches the learners about the use of basic problem solving techniques and tools and the difference between problem solving and decision making.
Participants will be able to define problems as well as will be able to gather and manage data and apply each step of the problem solving technique. They will be able to develop and use process maps, flow charts and cause-and-effect diagrams. Participants will be able to apply these techniques to find root causes, develop and implement solutions to eliminate the problem.
Supervisor Training Academy
This modular program was designed to meet the needs of the person making the move from peer to supervisor. The best operator doesn’t always have the knowledge and skills to make a smooth transition. Topics may include: feedback to reinforce or redirect behavior, goal setting, business writing, legal issues, presentations, business finance, HR issues, and problem solving.
Appreciative Inquiry
This organizational development process provides organizations with the opportunity to address problems with a focus on what is working within the organization as a basis from which to construct new success. SPCC trainers can facilitate training for large or small groups.
Leadership
This course introduces and reinforces the leadership skills vital to today’s success. Four management levels within the organization can be addressed, each requiring a different training application. The levels are divided into skill areas, each containing at least one, and up to several, leadership training modules.

Participants will complete a survey to help them discover and capitalize on their strengths, and learn to appreciate the differences of others. By understanding their own personal behavior patterns, and the other classical behavior patterns, participants will be more effective in developing positive working relationships with everyone in the workplace. Participants can better respond to the communication needs of other people, which leads to more successful interaction with others.

Learn how to build (or improve) a complete, and high-performance structured on-the-job training and job aid system for your company. Designed for anyone who needs to write job aids, or train others on the job. You don't need experience as a trainer or a job aid writer to attend the workshop.
Fast Start® In Project Management – 5 days
Participants learn state-of-the-art techniques for developing comprehensive project plans, getting management buy-in, and estimating and scheduling project tasks with accuracy and sophistication. They build work breakdown structures and skillfully apply your limited resources to their project plans. Additionally, they rehearse dynamic modeling to handle surprise variables. Included in this 5 day program is our PMP EXAM Preparation program. This "super-intensive" exam prep portion course is intended for anyone who wants a compressed, targeted approach toward preparing for the Project Management Professional (PMP®) Certification Exam offered by the Project Management Institute.
Comprehensive Safety Course
This two day course covers the 5 most deadly risks in the area of safety - Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Confined Space, Fall Protection, and Lockout/Tag out.
Lockout Tag Out
In this course you will explore how machines and equipment must be shut off or isolated from their power sources before any maintenance work or servicing tasks take place.
Confined Space
In this course you will explore how to make employees aware of the hazards that exist in a permit-required confined space and recognize that special precautions, training, and an approved Confined Space Entry Permit or approved Routine Entry Procedures are required for entry.
Fall Protection
This important course teaches workers how to protect themselves against fall-related disabilities or fatalities. It is designed to help workers master the critical areas of choosing the most effective fall protection system for their specific job and using it correctly.
Respirator Safety
This course covers the critical areas of the OSHA final Respiratory Protection Standard (1910.134) and will help workers prevent respiratory illnesses and injuries.
Hazardous Communiciations
This Web Course includes essential materials to help you comply with this frequently cited standard (OHSA 1910.1200) and to help employees identify hazards.
30-hour Safety for General Industry
Students will participate in a series of exercises and discussions that will prepare them to make critical decisions regarding the safety and health issues facing them as member of the management team. Those who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate from OSHA indicating completion of the OSHA 30-Hour Outreach Training Course.
Lean/Sigma Institute offerings
5S - Sort, Straighten, Sweep, Standardize, Sustain
Train staff not only on the principles of 5S, but empower them to take ownership from implementation through to maintaining their workplace organization. Three full days of activities structured around a Teach-Do format will identify areas of waste and move ahead workplace improvement.
VSM - Value Stream Mapping
Developing a Value Stream Map is just the beginning of a more involved improvement program. VSM Solution provides the content, materials and tools to create current and future maps and develop a process improvement plan. The VSM solution is action-oriented and guides the participants through a process of analyzing the company with the Value Stream Mapping Tools.
SMED – Quick Changeover
In today’s business environment there is an increasing need to become more agile to accommodate the unique needs of your customers. One of the best tools to increase flexibility and agility is the use of SMED methodology - used to reduce setup times so that you will be able to accommodate shorter lead-times and higher variety of products while increasing profit margins. The action-oriented training is structured around a full five-day training schedule, and provides the materials needed to facilitate and implement SMED principles to ensure success.
