Human Resource Development courses are offered on an ongoing basis. Courses:

Career Readiness for Financial Records/QuickBooks

  • Explore careers in financial records and learn to track funds, manage payrolls, process invoices, monitor inventory, create and manage budgets.

Career Readiness for Correctional Officers

  • Students explore correctional officer as a potential occupation and gain entry-level skills awareness and development as well as prepare for pre-employment testing.

Career Readiness for Basic Web Design

  • Learn how to create a simple, personalized web page. Explore topics and careers in Web-Page Design. Prerequisite: MUST have completed Computer Skills for the Workplace or Job Seekers class.

Career Readiness - Medical Office Administration

  • Explore careers in medical office administration including educational requirements, duties, hospital process, medical terminology, patient ettiquette, and HIPPA compliance.  

Communication Skills in the Workplace

  • Learn about effective communication skills. Topics include techniques for effective communication, body-language, problem solving, decision-making, cultural differences, interpersonal-skills, leadership, teamwork, mentoring, coaching on-the-job and corrective feedback and motivation.
Introduction to Allied Health Professions
  • Explore careers in allied health, including nursing, sonography, radiation therapy, surgical technology, emergency medical technician, and therapeutic massage. Topics include educational requirements, duties, and terminology.

Career Readiness for the Workplace

  • Provides basic career skills for positions available in either administrative office assistant or processing of medical documents for the medical workplace using Microsoft Word.

Customer Service

  • Learn to identify customer needs and how to satisfy those needs for “internal and/or external” customers for whom you must provide products, services, information or other deliverables.

Career Readiness for the Medical Workplace

  • Learn to process patient records, schedule appointments, create insurance claims, file and print super bills, reports, lists, statements and claims using Medisoft.

Career Planning and Assessment 

  • In this five-day class students assess their interests, attitudes, values, aptitudes, and readiness as it relates to career, employment, and/or educational goals.

Career Readiness for A+

  • Students learn how to set-up a computer, attach a printer, install software and upgrade memory or operating systems, perform a recovery in the event of system failure and how to reformat and install an operating system if the recovery fails.  

Computer Skills for Jobseekers

  • Learn job-seeking techniques using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Keyboarding, Resumes and Job-Searching Skills

  • Career interest and aptitude tests, applications, keyboarding, resumes, mock interviews, and Internet job searching skills.

Money Smart

  • Developed by the FDIC: Topics covered include consumer-rights & responsibilities, importance of credit history, introduction to bank services, understanding credit, the importance, benefits and methods for saving money, opening and maintaining a checking account, preparing a personal budget, knowing what your are borrowing before you buy, and introduction to home loans.
