Information about usernames and passwords

Usernames will be assigned from the first letter of your first name, the first three letters of your last name and the last four digits of your student ID. You will be assigned a temporary password which will be the word "Temp" followed by your two-digit birth month, your two-digit birthday followed by the plus sign. The "T" in the word Temp must be capitalized.

Example:
Username: tjac1234
Temporary password: Temp0612+

On the next screen, your old password will be the temporary password. Your new and confirm password will be the password you choose. This new/confirm password has to have a lower case letter, an upper case letter, a special or numeric character, and must be at least 8 characters long. It cannot contain part of your name. It cannot contain any words or symbols with special meaning to the computer, for example, delete, rename, ?, :, etc.

If you require technical assistance please contact the IS Department at support@spcc.edu or call 704-272-5320.

Username changes for students:

Students with last names containing anything other than letters (such as spaces, apostrophes, and/or hyphens) within the first three characters will have those special characters replaced by underscores(_). If you are a student affected by this, we will contact you as soon as the username change is made.

For example:

If your name is George Washington and your Student ID is 1234567 then your User ID would be gwas4567.

If your name is George O’Smith and your Student ID is 1234567 then your User ID would be go_s4567 (This has 1 underscore.).

If your name is George O and your Student ID is 1234567 then your User ID would be go__4567 (This has 2 underscores.).
