South Piedmont offers Career and College Promise high school students the following academic pathways.

New for academic year 2014-2015, students may enroll concurrently in two pathways. Students still have the option to enroll in one College Transfer Pathway and one Career and Technical Education pathway at the same time. Your  high school guidance counselor can help determine whether to select one pathway or two.

College Transfer Pathways

The South Piedmont Community College School of Arts and Sciences offers two transfer pathways that provide structured sets of general education courses. Upon completion of the Associate in Arts College Transfer Pathway or the Associate in Science College Transfer Pathway, students will be able to earn an Associate in Arts (AA) degree or an Associate in Science (AS) degree with less than 30 additional hours of study.

Career Technical Education Pathways

The South Piedmont Community College School of Applied Science and Technology offers 26 CTE pathways within the following career clusters:

  • Agriculture, Food, Natural Resources
  • Architecture & Construction
  • Arts A/V Technology & Communications
  • Business Management & Administration
  • Health Science
  • Human Services
  • Information Technology
  • Law, Public Safety, Corrections & Safety
  • Manufacturing
  • Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics
  • Transportation, Distribution and Logistics

Upon completion, students earn a curriculum certificate and will have accumulated a substantial number of credits toward an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree.
