Health Programs Admissions Requirements

South Piedmont Community College, serving Anson and Union counties, welcomes your interest in pursuing a career in one of our Health programs. Our programs include Associate Degree Nursing, Practical Nursing, LPN Refresher, RN-BSN, Cardiovascular Sonography, Medical Sonography, Musculoskeletal Sonography, Medical Assisting, Medical Laboratory Assistant, Therapeutic Massage, and EMS Bridge.


Applications and all admission requirements must be met/submitted by the deadlines posted below:

New Weekend/Night Section for Associate Degree Nursing

SPCC is now accepting applications for a weekend/night section of our nursing program. This section will begin in the fall semester 2015. The application deadline is June 4, 2015. Classes are on Tuesday and Thursday, from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. on the Monroe campus. Clinicals are each Saturday  from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

*Applicants must hold at least one approved credential or have graduated from an accredited sonography program to apply*.

The SPCC Medical Assisting Diploma Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB). Medical Sonography

The SPCC Medical Sonography Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Joint Review Committee for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRCDMS).  Musculoskeletal Sonography

*Applicants must hold at least one approved credential or have graduated from an accredited sonography program to apply.*


Practical Nursing

RN to BSN through Winston-Salem State University

Therapeutic Massage

Effective July 1, 2006, massage and bodywork therapy programs offered by community colleges in North Carolina that are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, or massage and bodywork therapy programs offered by a degree or diploma granting college or university accredited by any accrediting agency that is recognized by the United States Department of Education and is licensed by the North Carolina Community College System or The University of North Carolina Board of Governors, are exempt from approval by the Board. South Piedmont Community College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to award associate degrees, diplomas and certificates.
