Selection Process

In order to find the best fit and select well-rounded candidates to meet the needs of the College, hiring for full-time positions is conducted via search committee. After a position has been advertised for an appropriate amount of time, the committee will meet to rate all complete applications against predetermined criteria consistent with requirements and job duties presented in the job description. Applications not containing all required documents may not be forwarded to the search committee for review. If transcripts are required for a position, they must be present in the application file for an applicant to be considered. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee the candidate will be invited for an interview. See Application & Transcript Requirements for more information.

A Human Resources representative will invite the top candidates for interview. Interviews will be conducted by a search committee, and candidates will be notified if subsequent interviews are necessary. Instructional and professional positions normally require a teaching demonstration or presentation. Interview candidates are responsible for travel costs. After the committee evaluates all candidates, it will make a recommendation for hire. Human Resources will then complete due diligence in the form of reference and criminal background checks, and an offer for hire will be extended.

Candidates that are not selected will be notified via US Mail once the offer has been accepted. All employment offers are contingent upon criminal background check results, evidence of eligibility to work in the US, and official college transcripts for positions requiring degrees. College policy requires a criminal background check be completed on all candidates recommended for hire (both full-time and part-time positions). In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
