American Heart Association Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED

is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives.
Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. This course also teaches adult child and infant CPR and AED use.
This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid, CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.
Cost: $60

CPR Healthcare Provider

CPR: Healthcare Provider-Initial (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
HealthCare Provider Course * Only register for this course if you are a HealthCare Provider
This American Heart Association Healthcare Provider course teaches students to recognize the signs and symptoms of heart attacks and strokes and how to perform CPR for adults, infants and children and use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and FBAO (Foreign Body Airway Obstruction) for victims of all ages.

CPR Instructor Training

Become a certified CPR Instructor for American Heart Association.
Prerequisite:

  • Holds a Current AHA CPR Card (must bring to class)
  • Must fill out application and be accepted by a Training Center prior to class.
  • Create an online account through ahainstructornetwork.org  and align with the Training Center they were accepted by.

Cost: $70.00 due at time you register
One-time TC Admin fee of $35.00 if you choose SPCC as your training center (due at completion of all teaching requirements)
$3.00 due at the time of class for Instructor Card Fee

Requirements:
1.Be accepted by your local AHA Training Center before enrolling in an Instructor Course and have a completed Instructor Candidate Application on file with that Training Center
2.Have current AHA provider card and be proficient in all the skills of that discipline ( BLS or Heartsaver)
3.Successfully complete the discipline-specific classroom Instructor Course.
4.Successfully be monitored teaching your first course within six months of completing the discipline-specific classroom Instructor Course. SPCC does not loan out CPR equipment for the monitoring portion. Applicants are responsible for securing their own materials to use for the monitoring portion.
