Bb Collaborate

South Piedmont Community College utilizes Bb Collaborate (also known as Elluminate Live!) for synchronous web conferencing.  Collaborate (Elluminate) utilizes two-way audio, multi-point video, interactive whiteboard, application and desktop sharing, rich media, breakout rooms, and session recording. Educators and students can engage as if they were in a traditional classroom, with as good as, or even better, outcomes.  The Collaborate (Elluminate) sessions can easily be inserted as HTML links into Moodle courses, making access very easy for students.

Below you will find a series of tutorial videos to help you as a student at SPCC in getting started with Bb Collaborate (Elluminate Live!)

Introduction: Accessing meetings and basic usage

Communication: Using audio, video, and chat

Sharing: Using screen and application sharing

Recording: Using Screencast-o-matic to record your presentation
(recording after presentation - RECOMMENDED)

In addition to the videos, we have two documents for students.

The first is a general quick reference guide for using Collaborate (Elluminate Live!)

The second document includes a set of tips and tricks for presenting online. The experience of watching and giving web presentations is similar, but there are marked differences due to the mode of communication. You are not face-to-face with your audience; they are not sitting in the same room looking at you while you speak.
