Refunds

South Piedmont Community College follows tuition refund policies set by the state of North Carolina in the N.C. Administrative Code.

The following descriptions summarize the South Piedmont Community College refund policies:

  • Your refund check will be mailed to you, so please keep your current address on file with South Piedmont Community College.
  • If your class has been canceled, you will automatically receive a 100% refund.

Curriculum Refunds
Full Refund of Tuition and Fees

  • For 16-week classes, you must fill out and hand in a drop form to the Student Services Office before the start date of classes for the term. (This does not mean the start date of the individual class).
  • For second-eight-week classes, your drop form must be turned in before the start date of all second-eight-week classes.

75% Refund of Tuition and Refund of Fees

  • For 16-week and eight-week classes, you must fill out and hand in a drop form during the appropriate drop-add periods. The drop-add dates are posted on the web, and in SPCC schedules and publications.
  • After the 75% refund period, there will be no refunds even if you have not attended the class(es).

If you have an outstanding balance and wish to appeal your charges due to extenuating circumstances, please complete the Curriculum Account Balance Appeal Form and submit it to Student Services.

Continuing Education Refunds
Full Refund of Tuition and Fees (If Applicable)

  • You must officially withdraw from the class before the first class meeting. For the withdrawal to be official, an official request form must be completed and turned in at either the Lockhart-Taylor Center or the Old Charlotte Highway Continuing Education Center.

75% Refund of Tuition and Refund of Fees (If Applicable)

  • You must officially withdraw from the class from the first class meeting until the 10% point of the duration of the class. For a withdrawal to be official, an official request form must be completed and turned in at either the Lockhart-Taylor Center or the Old Charlotte Highway Continuing Education Center.
  • After the 75% refund period, there will be no refunds.
