Peer Tutor

NOTE: Candidate must be 18 years of age or older.

The South Piedmont Community College Academic Support Center is seeking currently enrolled students to serve as peer tutors (job description). This is a part-time, semester-long (16-week) position.

Requirements: Continuous enrollment as a student at South Piedmont Community College for the duration of employment as a tutor; grade of B or higher in all course(s) and/or academic subject areas for which tutoring services will be offered; cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher in all post-secondary course work.

Tutors are needed with demonstrated academic expertise in the following subject areas: math, reading, English/writing, information technology, business and accounting, psychology/sociology/behavioral sciences, and natural sciences. Multiple positions are available and are open until filled. Applicants must submit a completed SPCC employment application, along with unofficial copies of transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.
