Cover Letter and Résumé Writing

A professionally written cover letter and résumé are vital to landing a job interview. Students with active employmeNC accounts can utilize a very powerful software tool by RésuméMaker. With this software, you can utilize award-winning samples written by the experts! You can either build your document from scratch or upload your current Résumé file to edit and restyle it.
Just follow these easy steps:

1. Log in to your student account at employmeNC.
2. Hover over My Profile
3. Choose My Documents
4. Click Use Résumé Wizard (right side of screen)
5. Save your resume as a Word Document (.doc or .docx)
6. Your resume is automatically uploaded into your employmeNC profile***

***The initial upload will automatically be reviewed and approved by the career counselor or sent back to you with suggestions for changes. You can then resubmit it for presentation to employers.

Current students who are new to or uncomfortable with this important but unique style of writing can request assistance with developing their cover letter or résumé. Just contact Career Services for an individual appointment at 704-290-5846 / careerservices@spcc.edu. Look for Career Services workshops on basic Résumé and Cover letter writing at various times throughout the year.
