In 2012, South Piedmont Community College lost a dear friend in Robert Mayberry Jr., a respected Union County businessman and former member of the SPCC Foundation’s Board of Directors. To honor his memory, the Foundation directors approved a resolution enumerating some of his many achievements on behalf of others, especially the young people in our area.

 

A Resolution Honoring the Memory of Robert P. Mayberry Jr.

WHEREAS, Robert P. Mayberry, Jr., was a dedicated and popular citizen in and around Union County; and

WHEREAS, Robert P. Mayberry, Jr., was a respected businessman who adhered to the highest business principles; and

WHEREAS, Robert P. Mayberry, Jr., was a participant in and supporter of numerous activities benefitting the youth of our region; and

WHEREAS, Robert P. Mayberry, Jr., was an ardent supporter of South Piedmont Community College and held the institution in high regard; and

WHEREAS, Robert P. Mayberry, Jr., served with dedication and distinction on the Board of Directors of the South Piedmont Community College Foundation, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, Robert P. Mayberry, Jr., through his generosity made possible the naming of the college’s Small Business Centers in honor of his parents, Robert and Vi Mayberry; and

WHEREAS, God in His infinite wisdom has seen fit to take from us Robert P. Mayberry, Jr.; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board of Directors of the South Piedmont Community College Foundation, Inc., adopts this resolution in honor of the good works of the late Robert P. Mayberry, Jr., and stipulates that: A copy of this Resolution be recorded in the permanent minutes of the SPCC Foundation; a copy of this Resolution be published in the SPCC Insider, the college’s internal newsletter; and a framed copy of this Resolution be presented to the family of Robert P. Mayberry, Jr.

ADOPTED ON THIS, THE 10th day of September, 2012, by unanimous vote of the Board of Directors of the South Piedmont Community College Foundation, Inc.
