    South Piedmont Community College’s Medical Sonography Class of 2012 had its pinning ceremony on Wednesday, May 9, in the Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Company Conference Center on SPCC’s Old Charlotte Highway Campus 



  • Associate Degree Nursing Class of 2012 has pinning ceremony

    South Piedmont Community College’s Associate Degree Nursing Class of 2012 had its pinning ceremony on Tuesday, May 8, in the Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Company Conference Center on SPCC’s Old Charlotte Highway Campus in Monroe. 



  • REAL class has graduation ceremony

    South Piedmont Community College’s REAL Small Business Class had its graduation ceremony on Monday, May 7, in the college’s Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Conference Center on the Old Charlotte Highway Campus in Monroe. The class introduces hands-on techniques and procedures for planning and opening a small business. 



  • SPCC honors scholarship winners, donors

    South Piedmont Community College recognized scholarship winners for the 2011-2012 school year, as well as those donors who helped make the scholarships possible, during a luncheon on Monday, April 30, on the Old Charlotte Highway Campus.  



  • Battle of the Bands rescheduled for Aug. 17

    South Piedmont Community College’s fifth annual Battle of the Bands has been rescheduled for the evening of Friday, Aug. 17. The event was originally scheduled for April 21 but was postponed because of threatening weather. 



  • UNC's Destiny bus visits Union County Early College

    Destiny, a mobile classroom from the University of North Carolina’s Morehead Planetarium and Science Center, visited the Union County Early College on Wednesday, April 25. 



  • SPCC offers two Multimedia Design workshops

    South Piedmont College will offer two free Multimedia Design workshops, one this Saturday, April 21, and another on Saturday, April 28. Both will last from 8:30 a.m. until noon on the Old Charlotte Highway Campus in Monroe. 



  • SPCC to offer Medical Lab Assisting course over summer

    South Piedmont Community College will offer a Medical Lab Assisting course this summer. The course could serve as a springboard into a medical laboratory or office, or into SPCC’s Medical Assisting program. 



  • More than 100 attend Anson County Career Fair

    A little more than 100 people attended the Anson County Career Fair on Wednesday, April 18, at the Lockhart-Taylor Center.  



  • Fifth Battle of the Bands postponed until June

    Music will fill the air on South Piedmont Community College’s L.L. Polk Campus in Polkton in June when the school’s Student Government Association puts on the fifth annual Battle of the Bands. The event, originally scheduled for April 21, was postponed in anticipation of inclement weather. An announcement of a new date is expected later this week.
