    South Piedmont Community College completed its academic year Friday with two separate graduation ceremonies at the Union County Agricultural Services and Conference Center. SPCC President Stan Sidor presided over both for the first time since his tenure began last July.

    Kirk Castle considers himself a computer nerd. And, he likes helping people. When he began exploring careers in a medical field, his wife suggested sonography as a possibility and the more he looked into it the more he liked the idea.

    South Piedmont Community College’s Associate Degree Nursing Class of 2012 had its pinning ceremony on Tuesday, May 8, in the Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Company Conference Center on SPCC’s Old Charlotte Highway Campus in Monroe. 



  • REAL class has graduation ceremony

    South Piedmont Community College’s REAL Small Business Class had its graduation ceremony on Monday, May 7, in the college’s Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Conference Center on the Old Charlotte Highway Campus in Monroe. The class introduces hands-on techniques and procedures for planning and opening a small business. 



  • SPCC honors scholarship winners, donors

    South Piedmont Community College recognized scholarship winners for the 2011-2012 school year, as well as those donors who helped make the scholarships possible, during a luncheon on Monday, April 30, on the Old Charlotte Highway Campus.  



  • Battle of the Bands rescheduled for Aug. 17

    South Piedmont Community College’s fifth annual Battle of the Bands has been rescheduled for the evening of Friday, Aug. 17. The event was originally scheduled for April 21 but was postponed because of threatening weather. 



  • UNC's Destiny bus visits Union County Early College

    Destiny, a mobile classroom from the University of North Carolina’s Morehead Planetarium and Science Center, visited the Union County Early College on Wednesday, April 25.
