  • SPCC named Military Friendly School

    Victory Media has named SPCC to its coveted Military Friendly Schools list, which honors the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members, veterans and spouses as students and to ensure their success on campus. 

  • Spring, summer 2012 graduates

    South Piedmont Community College has released the list of associate degree, diploma and certificate recipients for spring and summer 2012. 

  • SPCC announces Quality Enhancement Plan

    After many months of preparation, South Piedmont Community College has announced its Quality Enhancement Plan, or QEP. This plan, titled “TRAC: Teaching Responsibility, Readiness and Resourcefulness through Advising Connections,” focuses on the college’s efforts to improve student advising.  

  • Cook School gives inmates a road back into society

    Steve Haddad stood in the middle of a group of inmates at Brown Creek Correctional Institution’s minimum custody unit, showing how breakfast is cooked at Showmar’s. The 15 men, who are students in SPCC’s Cook School, scurried to follow his instructions, making sure they were doing things exactly right and asking questions along the way. 

  • SPCC seeks community input at meetings

    South Piedmont Community College is seeking input from the community in its effort to continuously improve and serve Union and Anson counties. A series of community meetings will be held next week, two in Union County and two in Anson. 

  • Medical Sonography student accepted for state mentoring program

    Nefer Patton, a second-year Medical Sonography student at South Piedmont Community College, has been accepted as one of three mentees in the inaugural group chosen for the North Carolina Ultrasound Society’s new mentoring program. 

  • Massage Therapy program offering low-cost massages

    Low-cost massage clinics will be offered by South Piedmont Community College’s Massage Therapy students beginning Sept. 6.Those wishing to take advantage of one of the $20, hour-long massages may begin making appointments Aug. 30. 

  • Early Childhood Education program earns national accreditation

    South Piedmont Community College’s Early Childhood Education program has earned national accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). 

  • Employee awards presented during convocation

    Several South Piedmont Community College employees were honored for their work in the past year during the first day of the school’s convocation Aug. 6. 

  • Two named to Dean's List for summer session

    South Piedmont Community College Vice President of Student Success Elaine Clodfelter has released the names of students who have been included on the Dean’s List for the 2012 summer session.
