Emergency Medical Students Complete Their Training

South Piedmont congratulates the 10 men and women who graduated from the EMS Program on January 14, 2014.

They are going on to work for employers such as Piedmont Medical Center EMS, the Wesley Chapel Fire Department, Trans Med, Union County EMS, Cabarrus County EMS, the Providence Volunteer Fire Department, the Rock Hill Fire Department and Chester County EMS.

South Piedmont also congratulates the seven graduates of the EMT-Basic Certification in Wadesboro. The graduates are prepared for immediate employment in emergency services and may choose to go to complete the paramedic certification.

The new grads are going on to work at the Wadesboro Fire Department, Lilesville Fire and Rescue, Ansonville Fire and Rescue and the Peachland Fire Department. The class took 5 months to complete, with 203 classroom hours and 36 clinical ride time hours. The class covered topics that include CPR, cardiac, respiratory, strokes, pharmacology, OB-GYN, pediatric and geriatric patients, environmental Emergencies, terrorism, extraction of vehicles and the legal aspects of becoming an EMT.
