Massage Therapy conducting food drive for Anson Day of Caring

South Piedmont Community College’s Massage Therapy students are conducting a food drive for the Anson County Day of Caring. During their regularly scheduled massage clinics on Sept. 27-28, there will be three ways to donate.

For the one-hour massages, which require an appointment, the class will either donate $5 of the $20 fee or take $1 off for every canned good donated.

Chair massages, which require no appointment, will be by donation only (cash or canned goods) for those two days.

The massages are offered on the Old Charlotte Highway Campus in Monroe. Both the one-hour massages and chair massages are offered from noon to 2:30 p.m. Appointment times for the one-hour massages are noon to 1 p.m. or 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. each day.

For information or to schedule an appointment, contact Mary Berger at 704-290-5865.

The massage clinics are a teaching tool that help students put into practice what they have learned in the classroom. They continue on Thursdays and Fridays, excluding Thanksgiving week, until Dec. 14.
