Thursday, Aug. 30, 6 p.m., Olde Mill Art Gallery, Lockhart-Taylor Center, 514 N. Washington St., Wadesboro

The college is holding these meetings as it seeks to fulfill its mission of “learning, student success and workforce and community development.”

President Stan Sidor will also have listening sessions with faculty and staff on Aug. 27 at 11:30 a.m. in the Raye Boardroom in the Horne Library on the L.L. Polk Campus, and on Aug. 31 at noon in the Creech Boardroom in Building A on the Old Charlotte Highway Campus in Monroe. Faculty and staff are welcome to bring a brown-bag lunch.

Sidor will also meet with students on Aug. 29 at 11:30 a.m. in the conference center on the Old Charlotte Highway Campus, and on Aug. 30 at noon in the Horne Library on the L.L. Polk Campus. The Student Government Association will provide free pizza and beverages for those who attend those sessions.

An environmental scan has been developed that will be used by the college’s senior leadership and other stakeholders to evaluate key external variables that influence state and local workforces, and corresponding educational needs. In reviewing the impact of external factors such as the economy, learning, politics and technology, along with internal demographics, a strategic plan can be developed that will move the college forward.

The environmental scan can be viewed online at http://tinyurl.com/cpuru3a.
