SPCC to offer three-week Pathways to College course

South Piedmont Community College will offer a three-week Pathways to College class for those interested in preparing for entrance into a college credit program and new career pathway. Tuition will be waived for unemployed, underemployed and dislocated workers.

The class will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday, July 16 through Aug. 3, on the Old Charlotte Highway Campus in Monroe.
Topics to be covered include:

• Reading, English and writing review as preparation for the college placement test.
• Math skills refresher.
• Tips for taking the college placement test.
• Navigating the general college and health technologies admissions processes.
• Information on financial aid and Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funding for re-training.
• Foundations of college success (computer skills, study skills and time management).
