SPCC’s high school equivalency preparation courses offer instruction to assist learners in preparing to successfully pass a designated high school equivalency exam. This test is designed to document knowledge equivalent to a graduating high school senior.
SPCC offers the GED® and the HiSET high school equivalency exams.
To get started, call our department and come to an Orientation and Testing session, either at the Old Charlotte Highway Campus, 4209 Old Charlotte Hwy., Monroe, or, at the Lockhart-Taylor Center, 514 N. Washington Street, Wadesboro. These placement tests are free of charge and if you need to review any subjects, we will enroll you in our free classes to improve your skills before you take the high school equivalency exam.
Earning your High School Equivalency diploma is an excellent way for adults 18 and older to find their way to better paying jobs and higher education. Millions of adults have earned their high school equivalency diploma, which is accepted at all community colleges throughout the nation.
