Basic Skills Placement Testing and Orientation

All students interested in entering Adult Basic Education, GED or Adult High School classes must first participate in a placement testing session and an orientation session. We accept new students in our classes throughout the year.

On the Old Charlotte Highway Campus in Monroe, these sessions are offered to groups of prospective students approximately every two weeks. See the schedule below for dates and times. Students do not need to register for the sessions in advance, but must be on time to participate. All sessions are held in Building A. Students should arrive a few minutes early to ask for the room location at the reception desk. Students must attend placement testing prior to attending orientation.

At the Lockhart-Taylor Center in Wadesboro, placement testing is conducted at 9 a.m. on Mondays. Contact Scott Rivers to schedule an appointment.

Prospective students under the age of 18 must contact Basic Skills for advisement prior to attending a placement testing or orientation session.

Basic Skills Placement Testing and Orientation Schedule

Spring/Summer 2012

Old Charlotte Highway Campus, Monroe
All sessions occur on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Students are required to attend both days. Sessions will begin promptly at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Students should stop at the reception desk in Building A to ask the location of the session. Students are not required to make an appointment for testing.

Lockhart-Taylor Center, Wadesboro
Testing and orientation of new students are held every Monday, beginning promptly at 9 a.m. Come to the Lockhart Taylor Center at 514 N. Washington Street and ask for the Basic Skills Department. No appointment is necessary. For more information call 704-272-5468.
