 SPCC Virtual Academic Support Center

Computer-assisted Supplemental Instruction

The computer-assisted Supplemental Instruction available in each Academic Support Center provides students with additional opportunities for exposure, practice, guidance and mastery regarding college course subject material. These interactive educational software systems assist students in gaining proficiency with core mathematics, writing and reading elements.

The following computer-assisted Supplemental Instruction educational software systems are available:

  • Hawkes Learning Systems
Hawkes allows users to have unlimited practice and homework problems. Students may also access definitions, objectives and examples like a textbook.
  • MHC Interactive
MHC Interactive is a multimedia test-preparation and skills-development program designed to prepare students for success in core subject areas, including writing and reading (language arts), social studies, science, and mathematics. MHC allows students to work at their own pace and focus on subjects and skills most important to them.

Students who wish to use these educational software systems should visit either Academic Support Center during operating hours.
