What is Compensatory Education?
Compensatory Education, or Comp. Ed., offers educational programs for adults with developmental disabilities. Classes focus on helping our students become as independent and self-directed as possible by acquiring basic and life skills needed to function successfully in daily living.

Qualifications
To qualify for the Compensatory Education program, students must have a diagnosis of intellectual disability or a traumatic brain injury with functioning ability within the range of intellectual disability. Students must be 18 years of age or older and be released from public school.

Curriculum
The curriculum for the Compensatory Education program focuses on the following areas:

  • Functional academics: Reading, Math, Writing
  • Community Living
  • Health & Safety
  • Leisure & Humanities

Students in our program decide as a class the subject of study for the semester.
