Martin Student Center and Bookstore
The Student Center is adjacent to the Watson Building on the L.L. Polk Campus. The facility is equipped with a wide-screen television, pool table, comfortable seating areas, tables and chairs, a wide variety of food and drink vending machines, a conference room, small kitchen and several office areas. The facility serves as the hub for student clubs and activities on the L.L. Polk Campus. The bookstore is also located within the building, providing easy access to student books, school supplies and SPCC logo merchandise. The Southern Patriots Cafe is located just outside, offering a variety of delicious and affordably priced sandwiches and side items for breakfast and lunch.
Outside Seating/Recreational Areas
The L.L. Polk Campus has several nice recreational and seating areas that are available to students throughout the year. A fishing pond is located behind the Garibaldi Building with several benches and concrete tables. A gazebo is located on the northeast corner of the Martin Technology Complex and provides a covered location to enjoy the outdoors. A recreational horseshoe pit is located on the north side of the chapel for student use. The south side of the chapel has several benches surrounding a large fountain in the Jane Cunningham Memorial Garden. Outside the Watson Building, a large concrete patio complete with umbrella-covered picnic tables, a basketball goal and a volleyball court in the adjacent grassy area provide a great place for students to catch their breath between classes and participate in recreational activities while on campus.
A well-equipped break area is in the basement of the Lockhart-Taylor Center. The area has a television, microwave, tables and chairs along with various drink and snack vending machines. There are outside seating areas close to all the entrances of the facility.
Building A
A full-service cafeteria (Patriots Café) is located just inside the south patio entrance to Building A. The café serves a wide variety of sandwiches, salads and soups. Prices are reasonable and the food is great. A large student break room is adjacent to the café where gaming equipment, television, informational kiosks, vending machines and seating areas are located. The outside patio is equipped with several picnic tables for student use.
Building B
A student break room is located on the west end of the building. The room is equipped with a microwave, drink and snack vending machines, several tables and chairs, and a television. There are also two outside break areas that have several picnic tables for student use and enjoyment.
