The CNC Machining Shop and the Industrial Maintenance Shop is seeking student applicants to apply for the Federal Work-Study shop assistant (job description). The Shop Assistant provides program support to the CNC Machining program and the Industrial Maintenance Program specifically and may be called upon to provide broader program support to other areas within the Workforce Development Division as deemed necessary by the Vice President of Workforce Development. This is a part-time position, working 10 - 12 hours per week on the Old Charlotte Highway Campus. This position requires that the candidate be flexible in their hours. The Shop Assistant position will report to the Director, Advanced Manufacturing Program and the Vice President of Workforce Development.

Student Federal Work-Study applicants, the Federal Work-Study program is a federally funded program that provides part-time jobs for students who exhibit financial need. Students must have completed a current year's FAFSA application, be eligible for Federal Financial Aid, be enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours) at South Piedmont Community College, be making Satisfactory Academic Progress (GPA of 2.000 or higher, a completion rate of 67% or higher of attempted credit hours, not to exceed the maximum timeframe of 150%) to apply.
