The Communication Center:

Helping students to become more effective and more confident writers and speakers.

Comm CenterThe Communication Center, housed in SPCC’s Academic Support Center on the Monroe campus, offers face-to-face and eTutoring options to help writers at every level of proficiency experience the satisfaction of developing effective written communications. Hours are the same as the Academic Support Center’s.

The skilled tutors in the Communication Center believe that writing is a collaborative process. Their goal is to help students become stronger and more confident writers. The Communication Center can assist students at any point in the writing and speech creating process:

  • Brainstorming
  • Development
  • Organizing
  • Proofreading
  • Working with outside sources and citation styles
  • Practicing a speech
