What happens in this class?  A hands-on course that develops entrepreneurial traits, knowledge and skills. The course guides participants through the process of planning, creating and operating small businesses of their own design.

If you have dreamed of starting a business, we can help you prepare for success. Graduates have a better than 85% success rate. If you already have a business, we can help you improve and expand. You and other participants learn to be entrepreneurs by doing the things that successful small business owners do with challenging and interesting cases, simulations and videos.

  • Business Use of Your Home (online only)
    Business Use of Your Home provides the information you need to understand the tax implications of using your home as your business headquarters. It also will give you instructions on how to calculate direct and indirect business expenses; ways to use different depreciation methods; how to correct mistakes with IRS. You will have the opportunity to complete case studies demonstrating all aspects of using your home as a business office.
  • Understanding Financial Statements (online only)
    Understanding Financial Statements (FS1) introduces you to the financial statements most often used by small business owners.
  • Using Financial Statements (online only)
    Using Financial Statements (FS2) walks you through a case study and shows you how basic financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement) are used.
