EMT-Basic certification
Course instruction takes students to the level of Emergency Medical Technician-Basic, a vital part of the health care team, providing the majority of pre-hospital emergency medical care. Students will learn all skills necessary to pass certification exams and provide emergency medical care, at the basic life support level, with an ambulance service or other specialized service. Training includes clinical ride-along time. Successful students are prepared for immediate employment in emergency services and may choose to go on to complete Paramedic certification.

Orientation: Thursday, July 12, 2012, 7 p.m. - Required
Class dates: August-December 2012
Tuesday & Thursday, 6-10 p.m. & one Saturday each month, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Also offered as an online hybrid course, with minimal time on campus
Pre-requisite: High School diploma or GED

EMT-Paramedic certification
The 12-month EMT-Paramedic course continues training in Emergency Services with focus on advanced skills and the administration of medication. Topics of study will include advanced cardiac and intubation techniques, understanding EKGs, and administration and interactions of medication. 1096 hours of training includes clinical and ride-along time. Paramedic students must also complete a course in Anatomy & Physiology.

Required for EMT-Paramedic students. Recommended before beginning EMT-P classes, but can be taken concurrently.

CPR Instructor training
Become a certified CPR Instructor for American Heart Association.

Pre-requisite: Must have current CPR certification from American Heart Association
