Annual Campaign FAQ

What is the SPCC Foundation and how does it support the college each year?

  • The SPCC Foundation is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit entity that supports the college through fundraising initiatives. The 2014 annual campaign raised $23,637 for student scholarships, equipment, faculty/staff recognition awards, and more.

Is a gift to the SPCC Annual Campaign tax deductible?

  • Yes, your gift to the SPCC Annual Campaign is tax deductible in accordance with IRS regulations.

Will my gift go directly to the area I designate?

  • Yes!

How will I be recognized for my gift?

  • Employee gifts are recognized in the College’s annual report. When asked on your pledge card, please indicate if you wish to remain anonymous.

How do I make a gift?

  • You can pay by cash, check or payroll deduction. Use this pledge form to specifiy where you would like your gift allocated and send the form and your gift to Ginger McLain at the LLP Campus/Lockhart-Taylor Center or Gina Rhodes at the OCH Campus.

What amount do I need to donate to receive an invitation to the annual Chairman’s Luncheon?

  • Your generous gift of $120 or $10 per pay period will guarantee your invitation.

ARLENE STEPHENS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
• Enrolled in a continuing education program leading to a career (e.g., CNA, EMT, advanced manufacturing,
auto body)
• Preference to successful completers of an HRD class

CARPENTER HEALTHCARE SCHOLARSHIP
• Preference to Union County
• Preference to ADN students

GENERAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
• Resident of Union or Anson County
• Associate degree program

JIM MULDROW MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
• Resident of Union or Anson County
• Preference to students enrolled in college transfer, nursing, or allied health program degree

JOHN MCKAY PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP
• Resident of Anson or Union County
• Degree or diploma program

MAUREEN F. DEVITTO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
• Preference to residents of Anson or Union County
• Preference first to students enrolled in associate degree nursing or practical nursing programs; then to students enrolled in other Allied Health programs

OPPORTUNITY FUND (CONTINUING EDUCATION)
• Permanent resident of Anson or Union County
• Enrolled in a career-oriented or career-enhancing continuing education program
