SPCC presents annual employee awards
MONROE -- South Piedmont Community College honored several employees Monday, Aug. 9, during its convocation, the annual kickoff to a new school year.
Registrar Cathy Horne won the Staff of the Year Award, Human Resources Development Director Linda Kappauf was named Administrator of the Year, Counselor Jennifer Nichols received the Outstanding Customer Service of the Year Award, Horticulture Instructor Jason Miller was selected Continuing Education Faculty of the Year, Smart Start Director Carilyn Raymond was named Adjunct Faculty of the Year, Information Services Librarian Grant LeFoe won the Innovator of the Year Award and Medical Assisting Instructor Meredith Eubanks was chosen Outstanding Online Instructor of the Year.
A new award this year was the Collaborative Team of the Year. The inaugural award went to employees involved in moving the Print Shop from the L.L. Polk Campus in Polkton to the Lockhart-Taylor Center in Wadesboro. Those honored were David Whitesides and Mary-Ellen Frizzell from the Print Shop; Al Odom, Mike Napier, Bryiant Marshall and Jeff Wood from Facilities and Property Services; Terry Landis, Nadine Burckhalter and Joseph McElrath from Information Services and Joe Cameron from Purchasing.
Award winners were nominated by fellow employees and winners were selected by the school's Senior Leadership Team.
