Union County Career Fair is April 27
MONROE – The annual Union County Career Fair is scheduled for Friday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at South Piedmont Community College’s Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Company Conference Center, 4209 Old Charlotte Highway.
Last year’s Union County event drew 50 vendors and approximately 400 participants.
The fair, which offer connections with career, educational and community resources, can be valuable for those seeking a job, for those looking to change careers and for students wishing to explore possible careers. They will be able to attend professional workshops, learn about educational and training opportunities and meet with employers.
Professional dress is required and attendees are welcome to bring resumes. Because of expected large crowds, visitors are asked to prepare for long wait times.
Already, 31 vendors/employers have signed up to participate, with more expected in the next three weeks. Those already committed are: ATI Allvac, B & E Manufacturing, Centralina Workforce Development Board, Child Care Resources, Inc., Colfax, Developmental Disabilities Resources, Inc., Employment Security Commission – Union County JobLink Center, Gardner-Webb University, Goodyear – Clark Tire & Auto; Greiner Bio One, Home Instead Senior Care of Stanly and Union County, Liberty National Life Insurance, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Monroe Fire Department, Monroe Police Department, N.C. Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, N.C. Highway Patrol, Palmetto Exterminators, Primerica Financial Services, Small Business Administration – Charlotte, Spiroflow Systems, Staffmark, Steps Developmental Academy, Union County Community Action, Union County Department of Social Services, Union County Smart Start, Union County Public Library, U.S. Coast Guard, Valvoline Instant Oil Change, Western & Southern Financial Group, and WESTMED Practice Partners.
The Union County event is sponsored by SPCC, the Union County Department of Social Services, the Employment Security Commission, Union County Community Action, the Union County Public Library, the Union County Chamber of Commerce and Vocational Rehabilitation.
