Low-cost massage clinics scheduled

SPCC's Therapeutic Massage program will start its fall massage clinics on Thursday, Sept. 16. They will run every Thursday until Dec. 2.

The hours are 1 p.m., 2:15 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. They are one hour long and initially will consist primarily of relaxation (Swedish) massage. As the semester progresses, the massages will become more complicated and will consist of other modalities.

The cost is $20 for a full hour. You will need to make an appointment for these massages and they are open to everyone: staff, families and the community at large. One person is limited to four massages for the entire semester. Children under 16 are not allowed to be massaged and those between the age of 16 and 18 will need parental consent. To make an appointment, contact Mary Berger at 704-290-5865.

Also, every Thursday, beginning Sept. 16, from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., free chair massages will be provided in Room 168 in Building B on the Old Charlotte Highway Campus. These are first come, first serve and no appointment is necessary.
