SPCC To Host Federal Grants Workshop
South Piedmont Community College will host a workshop March 28-April 1 on Competing for Federal Grants on the Old Charlotte Highway Campus, 4209 Old Charlotte Highway, Monroe.
Competing for Federal Grants is a new workshop developed in response to the increased number of grants available at the federal level. Training will be conducted by The Grantsmanship Center, Inc., which has trained more than 110,000 staff members of nonprofit and government agencies around the world since 1972. To ensure personalized attention, enrollment is limited to 25 participants.
The trainer uses recent application guidelines and funded proposals for presentations, classroom discussion and hands-on activities. During the training, participants will develop a work plan for proposal development, write key proposal sections, review proposals drafted by peers, and have work reviewed by others.
Upon completion of the workshop, graduates receive a full year of free follow-up services through the Alumni Membership Program, including professional proposal review and access to comprehensive online databases of foundation, corporate, and government funding sources.
Previously, SPCC has sent individuals to a variety of workshops offered by The Grantsmanship Center. ?We were delighted that the The Grantsmanship Center is offering this new federal grants training workshop in Monroe,? said SPCC President John McKay. ?Since most are located in distant cities, we asked to host one for our region.?
