Plan Now To Attend The 2011 Carolinas Writers Conference
The third annual Carolinas Writers Conference will be Saturday, April 2, at the South Piedmont Community College?s Lockhart-Taylor Center, 514 N. Washington Street, Wadesboro.
The conference will be free of charge this year, thanks to a grant from the N.C. Humanities Council. A catered lunch will be available at a charge.
The featured speakers will be Omar Tyree and Robert Macomber. Tyree is a resident of Charlotte and a well known romance writer and advocate of literacy. Macomber is a returning writer of naval fiction and a much sought after lecturer.
This year?s Carolina Writers Conference will initiate a ?Moveable Feast,? providing the opportunity for attendees to talk to each of the authors on a one-to-one basis during lunch. The authors will rotate to a different table of attendees every few minutes.
The structure of the conference has been changed so every author will present both in the morning and the afternoon, allowing a better opportunity for all the attendees to listen to as many of the authors as possible.
Wayne and Mary Sims of Asheville are storytellers who will entertain their audience with stories of courting during the Civil War and local legends.
The conference will have sessions on the craft of writing as well as poetry, storytelling and self-publishing.
An author panel on ?How to Get Published? will end the conference.
