SPCC Holds Phi Theta Kappa Induction

South Piedmont Community College held its spring Phi Theta Kappa Induction Ceremony April 20 at the Jesse Helms Center in Wingate. SPCC President John McKay was the speaker.
Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society for two-year colleges that recognizes students for outstanding academic achievement. To be eligible for membership, students must have at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, be of good moral character, and possess recognized qualities of citizenship. Phi Theta Kappa promotes leadership, service, fellowship and scholarship at SPCC and in the community.
Phi Theta Kappa officers for the 2006-2007 school year presided at the induction. They were Tracey Griffith, president; Sandra Smith, Pamela Gillard, Vittoria Johnson, Mary Kay Canupp, vice presidents; Rhonda Timberlake, secretary; and Robin Helms, treasurer.
