SPCC's Lockhart-Taylor Center to Host Open House
The Lockhart-Taylor Center of South Piedmont Community College will hold a Back-to-School OPEN DOOR Open House Tuesday, Aug. 22, 4-7 p.m., to showcase all the adult courses scheduled for the fall semester. The Lockhart-Taylor Center is at 514 N. Washington St., Wadesboro.
Attendees can receive SPCC program literature, pick up give-a-ways, have questions answered, visit class rooms and register for classes. Program directors and instructors will be present to assist prospective students with their choices.
Available programs include Truck Driving, GED, Adult High School, Manicurist, Resume Skills and Supervisory Management. Adults will find a wide range of choices to enhance and elevate their skills. SPCC, with its “Open Door” policy, offers courses for anyone 16 or older. Senior citizens are encouraged to explore continuing education offerings at the Lockhart-Taylor Center.
“Adults choosing to continue their education will find new doors of opportunity open and job advancement opportunities in Anson County,” said Sandy Huntley, director of the Lockhart-Taylor Center.
Many SPCC partners will be present for the Open House and include The New Ventures Business Development, Inc., which will provide resources for starting and growing businesses. HOLLA (Helping Our Loved Ones Learn and Achieve), a local group, will provide free refreshments and music in the Ingram Community Room. The Anson Employment Security Commission’s JOB LINK will be present to offer the career connection for those who choose to enhance their skills through more education.
