South Piedmont Community College will host Train to Work Open House sessions on Sept. 19 at 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the Conference Center on the Old Charlotte Highway Campus, 4209 Old Charlotte Highway, Monroe.

Train to Work is an opportunity for those interested in working in the telecommunications industry as broadband technicians to explore training and job opportunities with Time Warner Cable. There are five simple steps in the Train to Work Program: attend an information session, complete an application and take the job specific online assessment to determine job fit, attend training and successfully graduate, interview with Time Warner Cable and upon selection, begin a new career with Time Warner Cable.

The Train to Work Open House will provide information about the program. Employment is not guaranteed, but the program will help begin a professional relationship with a potential employer. Classes will consist of 80 hours of telecommunications training and begin on Oct. 2. Participants must reside in the Greater Charlotte Metro area.

Sponsors for Train to Work are South Piedmont Community College, the Centralina Workforce Development Board and Time Warner Cable. Seating is limited, and preregistration is required at www.traintowork.com/rsvp. The information session code is TWCHRL.
