More than 100 attend Anson County Career Fair

A little more than 100 people attended the Anson County Career Fair on Wednesday, April 18, at the Lockhart-Taylor Center.

A total of 105 people came to meet with a variety of employers and representatives of South Piedmont Community College about possible jobs, or classes that could lead to jobs. Participants could also get their resumes reviewed, and SPCC’s Career Cruiser was on hand to provide help with resumes and job applications.

“They all seemed very pleased with the employers participating and the programs at South Piedmont,” said Kristi Phifer, SPCC’s Work First coordinator in Anson County.

SPCC Advertising and Graphic Design Instructor Cheryl Hicks said 10 people expressed interest in enrolling in the Advertising and Graphic Design program.

A total of 25 employers and vendors participated in this year’s event.

The Career Fair was sponsored by South Piedmont Community College, the Anson County Department of Social Services, the Anson County Chamber of Commerce, the N.C. Employment Security Commission and Vocational Rehabilitation.
