South Piedmont Community College will offer Early Educator Certification (EEC) mandated renewal credit courses at the Lockhart-Taylor Center, 514 N. Washington Street, Wadesboro, and the Old Charlotte Highway Campus, 4209 Old Charlotte Hwy, Monroe beginning in October.
Lockhart-Taylor Center classes
Classes are for educators working with or on behalf of children from birth to 12 years old. The sessions were developed by the N.C. Institute of Child Development Professionals and are taught by childhood educator instructors with appropriate credentials.
The multi-entry series will consist of three five-hour courses:
“Challenging Behavior” on Oct. 3 and 17
“Family-Staff Partnerships” on Oct. 20 and 27
“Creative Activities” on Nov. 10 and 17. The Corporate and Continuing Education courses will meet 6-8:30 p.m.
There is a one-time fee of $65 for one or all three of the courses. Each course earns (.5 CEUs).

Old Charlotte Highway Campus classes

"Building Your Skill for Implementing Best Practices in Administering Quality Early Care and Education Programs" on Oct. 4 and 18 from 6-8:30 p.m.
"Weaving Math and Science Experiences into the Everyday Lives of Young Children" on Oct. 25 and Nov. 1 from 6 - 8:30 p.m.
Each course earns (.5 CEUs).
Professionals may register for one or both sessions for one registration fee of $65.
